Predictably for such a made-to-order effort, the material is a little uneven (who in music would have 11 or 12 first-rate car songs just sitting around waiting to be recorded?) but the music is first-rate.

  8. Albums really were shorter back in the mid-'60s, which means that this Australian compilation is not just a two-fer but a three-fer -- three whole Jan & Dean albums on one minute disc.
